Tree Care Services

Tree Care Services offered by ARB Wood Tree Services

About our Tree Care Services

All tree-care services will be completed leaving each tree in an acceptable, well-balanced and safe condition.

Each tree will be individually considered in relation to the:

shape, size, character, condition, site and species of tree.

Each branch will be removed using the safe methods and the risk to people our first priority.

Each tree will be individually considered in relation to the shape, size, character, condition, site and species of tree.

All final cuts will be made at the branch collar, with the branch collar remaining intact. Under no circumstances will any flush cuts be made.

We deal with all types of trees, including fruit trees and leylandii.

Crown Reductions

Crown reduction should not be used to reduce the chances of the tree blowing over in a storm.

Crown reduction can be considered when the root system of a large maturing tree has substantial decay making it potentially hazardous or on a tree with a high rating.

The objective is to make cuts so that the foliage is left intact on the outer edge of the new, smaller canopy ideally, pruning cuts should not be evident when you stand back from the tree after pruning.

Crown Thinning

Crown Thinning:

Makes an overgrown tree safer.

Thinning is the preferred method to minimize storm damage.

Thinning methods can be dangerous, please call us for help and advice.

Thinning can be used on otherwise structurally sound/healthy trees.

Thinning is normally a stage of felling a large tree.

Thinning out a tree is done to reduce the density of the tree, reducing weight stress and allowing air to circulate.

Evenly cut branches so the tree does not lose it's shape but allows for healthy growth.

Thinning crowns to let in more light into your garden.

Smaller branches are removed from the outer areas of the tree.

Crown Lifting

Pruning trees helps to keep them healthy, by removing any damaged or diseased branches as well as letting more light through the branches.

Lifting the crown by removing lower branches will allow easy access underneath the tree for:

Mowing access, if you have grass growing underneath, or plants growing.

It allows the air to flow through and light to pass through the branches as well as reducing the weight of the tree.

It creates a space under the tree  which provides shade from the sun, nice if you are sitting out in the garden or park in the summer months.

From a safety aspect, it helps prevent young children from climbing and getting out of their depth, so avoiding accidents.

Tree Topping

Dead or Damaged Trees Removed.

Section Topping/Felling will be used in situations where there is a risk of damage occurring to any property or harm to the public.
The work consists of the entire removal of the tree, in sections. If a delay between felling and stump removal is to occur, the stump will be left at a minimum height of 1.5 metres. (Stump Removal is normally an extra service).

The straight fell of trees is the removal of trees as a single unit. Straight felling will be limited to such situations that pose no risk of damage to any property or persons whatsoever.

Topping is also used if the tree is interfering with the power or telephone overhead cables. Crown reduction can also be used, which is less drastic.

Stump Removal

Stump removal consists of the complete removal of the stump and any lateral roots of the tree and may be undertaken either using hand tools or a machine (stump grinder).

Stump grinding involves the removal of stump to a specified depth, generally between 150m and 300m. Upon completion of stump removal, the remaining hole will be back-filled with soil or grinding waste to leave a level surface.

Please note: Stump Removal is normally an extra paid service (It is not included in tree removal service).

Decayed or Diseased Trees

We remove trees that are unsafe and decaying or diseased trees, this can pose a threat to public safety as well as to healthy trees that are nearby.

If there are branches showing signs of disease on what appears to be a healthy tree otherwise, it is possible to remove the diseased branches. By removing the diseased branches it can give the tree the chance to recover and remain healthy.
